| Posted: | | | | So, has anyone had this problem: 1) Received a nice bunch of boxed sets in the mail. 2) Opened DVD Profiler 3) Moved the boxed sets from Ordered to Owned... 4) And only some of the discs of that set moved to Owned, while some remained in the Ordered tab, and now even the thumbnails of other movies are overlapping those discs. Basically, a total clusterf**k. 5) Cannot move the ordered discs back to their owned sets, because they show as "owned" in the edit menu. Has anyone just done a new database restore from a previous point? I hate backing-up every few days, but it seems like I may have to with the increasing collection I have. |

But I have experienced serious bugs when moving Box Sets from the Ordered to Owned. Something usually gets messed up much like what you described...and a database repair did not fix it, so I had to resort to a restore from a previous backup. I generally try to backup my database every single day or two, depending on what I've actually altered. | | | Corey | | | Last edited: by Katatonia |

| Posted: | | | | My experience is that if you move a boxset by rightclicking and selecting Move to... then the children are moved along with it, but if you flag it and use Collection->Flagged->Move to then you must first flag the children too.
When I have screwed that up, I have never had any problems moving the children separately afterwards. But that may possibly have something to do with the fact that I don't use the standard Ordered category, but instead use a custom category. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

I've tried it both ways, and the entire Box Set and children do move to Owned... but then there'll be some random bug that shows up. An extra blank profile will appear, or one profile gets its images and other details switched and overwritten from another profile, etc. And a database repair oddly never fixed those problems for me, so I just have to restore the profiles from a backup. I've just stopped even adding any Box Set with childs in the Ordered category...or at least stopped attaching the childs to a Box Set while they are entered in the Ordered category. | | | Corey |

| Posted: | | | | Hey, thanks for all the replies. Sorry to not get back quicker! Looks like I'm going to make backups more frequently, and being extra cautious when adding boxed sets. Lately, I've added so many box sets I think DVD Profiler is getting frustrated with me as I hardly buy boxed sets (due to recent deals across various websites, I couldn't resist). |

| Posted: | | | | Have you already tried the Database Repair as suggested by Lewis_Prothero? And then try the move again after completing such a repair. It should just work. I've done this many times, and did not have your problems. |
