| Posted: | | | | Question:
The 80s movie "About Last Night..." always had quotes around it's title, even onscreen.
Per the rules we are supposed to leave them out. But does this apply to the original title field as well? | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I would say no.... because there is a HUGE amount of old films that includes the quotes in the film credits... and I wouldn't want to use the original title field just for the quotes on all those films! | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | The rules say: "Do not include quotes if they surround the entire title."
The rules do not say: "Do not include quotes if they surround the entire title, but retain them in the original title field."
So no, I wouldn't include the quotes at all. |

| Posted: | | | | I say we do need to remove quotes altogether for consistency.
In "About Last Night..." the Title is a phrase so has quotes around it. But there are other films where the Title is a phrase and they do not put quotes around it.
For consistency, it's better to remove them from all Titles as I believe the Rule states. |
