Isn't it getting late for this year's update?

Yes... it is late because he normally does it in or around May. I know this because I joke about having a release for my birthday.

But I am not worried in the least. I know it will come when Ken feels it is close enough to being ready.

Isn't the update cycle more around 18 months to two years by now?

Is there anything like an upgrade cycle at all?

I'm afraid this program is moving closer and closer to life support as time goes on.

Are there disc drives that reliably read out the 100 GB discs?

We had the update. The program will now automatically (and incorrectly) not use capital letters in film titles where particles are used.

Seriously though, 4K required!

That was last year's update - not this year's update. So there's still hope...

Hmmm, if the author has abandoned the program....it'd be nice to get some word about it.  Maybe it could be sold to Disney!   It might get some updates then.

I'd still recommend the program.  It's the best I've ever seen!

Ken's last post was less than a month ago, so cries for him bonding the software might be a bit early.

He mentioned an upcoming version just earlier this year; this was in rears to UHD discs. He also posted a media banner one month after that. Of course, things could possibly have changed since then...

I think he is no longer doing this full-time anymore (for quite some time at this point), so updates take significantly longer than they had in the past.

I'm sure it's coming, just be patient. This happens every time... there's long periods of silence with nothing really heard from Ken, and then beta versions suddenly appear and a release gets into full gear.

With the advent of UHD, he's probably having to do more coding to get that fully implemented.

Ever heard the story about the boy who cried wolf?  I get tired of hearing the latest "DVD Profiler is on its way out" or "Ken is abandoning us" nonsense.  Unless it actually happens, why plant that fear?  Is that what our society has learned to expect from everything we encounter these days?  Fear?  Are we to fear that Ken is abandoning us.....again?

You should read State of Fear by Michael Crichton.
