I remember that Humphrey B. Bear, Channel Nine ad... about 1973/4 I think, just prior to colour television (1975). Dad went and bought a colour TV straight away, if memory serves correctly, there were only maybe 2 or 3 other houses in the street with  a COLOUR TV.

I just watched Crash Test, and ugh!  Poorly scripted with terrible characterisations.  When you can't write a script that makes sense and can't come up with logical motivations for anything that drives the plot, how in the hell do you not only get funding to make a movie but also get someone to release it on DVD?  I know it was Australian, but it was crap... and that's coming from someone who enjoyed Subterano, and found Reign in Darkness tolerably bad.

Oh and speaking of Australian movies/dvds, one I have been waiting for is coming out soon.
Ground Zero (1987) with Colin Friels, Jack Thompson and Donald Pleasence.

Caught it on tv one arvo and have been waiting for it to come out on dvd ever since.

A few Australians movies witch I’m really love very , very, much.

Harlequin ( Again from Simon Wincer one of my favourite director. )

There are many others but theses are my favourites. And specially Harlequin ! 


I like very much the Australians Movies, and also the director’s from this country, Of course I don’t forget Mad Max from ( George Miller) this became a film Culte for many peoples.
And also I remember the Psyco II 1983  (US Production ) but released by Richard Franklin it was not easy to working after Hitchcock, this film was not very appreciated by public , but Franklin make from this film a real homage to Alfred Hitchcock, a very good writing by Tom Holland and perfectly released by Richard Franklin .

Well that’s my opinion about Australians movies and my lover for those movies.

Resurrecting this thread! I see that Ezy DVD has a price reduction on Prisoner - Cell Block H: The Complete Collection (179 Disc Case) of $600 Aus; beginning 1st September 08; only open to Australian residents though. Still doesn't make me want to buy it! See Here
