The following range of Blu-rays have been entered in to the database in two different ways.

They are either being entered in the Title field as "Dracula: Complete Legacy Collection", for example, or "Complete Legacy Collection" is being entered in the Edition field.

Which is correct?

To me, it's clear this should be in the Edition field, as there are several titles that belong to this collection.

From the rules (bolding by me):
The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut)

I don't understand the insistence some people have on entering every word on the front cover as a title.

If we're not willing to go the whole way and call it "Blu-rayDisc Dracula Complete Legacy Collection All 6 films from the original legacy 1931-1948" then I don't see how we can call it anything other than "Dracula", with "Complete Legacy Collection" as the edition.

I'm sure someone will disagree with me, though.  And it's not as if it's a major issue: just amend the title to whatever you like, lock it, and then leave it alone in your collection.  You don't have to upload it, after all.

I encountered this problem when trying to enter them in to my Wish List.

Some of them are made obvious by the inclusion of 'Complete Legacy Collection' in the Title, others are not.

I just want to get it uniform in the database. And there are others yet to be entered which I want to get right.

These are all collections of films, not individual films called "Dracula", "The Mummy" or "The Wolf Man", so I would say it makes much more sense that "Complete Legacy Collection" is part of the title of the collection, rather than an edition of the films "Dracula", "The Mummy" or "The Wolf Man".

Oh, just seen, that these are not single movies, but Movie collections. Changed my vote to "Title".
Complete list of Common Names  •  A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1)

The title of the movie is the title of the movie as it appears in the opening credits, not with a collection which is an edition. Cut and dried to me.

The title of which movie? These are not single movies.

These are box sets collecting a group of films centered around a specific monster character.  Title is "____: The Complete Legacy Collection"

For the box set parent profile: Title.
For the individual movies' child profiles: Edition (per the rule quoted by Eagle).

I've read the discussion and changed my vote accordingly.  It makes sense for the parent to have "The Complete Legacy Collection" as part of the title, but not for the individual titles.

Like AlunH, I misread the discussion and did not understand that we were talking about the parent container for the individual movies. I have changed my vote.

Thanks for everyone who voted. I think that's close enough to unanimous.

I think some of this may simply be ignorance rather than being a stickler. My dad and uncles all use this software and they are not.. shall we say.. the most tech savvy individuals? I doubt they're the only ones. Catching it when you see it and fixing it in the database might be necessary a long way of the way
