| Posted: | | | | Recently, I removed a group divider in the title American Hustle. There are 2 actors credited separately, but with the same role. As the credits did not have a group divivder, I removed them.
I got a no vote, so I contacted this person. He claims, if they have the same credit, you can group them yourself with a group divider. The rules state, group dividers should mirror the credits.
Have I missed anything? Is it allowed to use dividers, when none are present? | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Group-Dividers as I use them:
rolename actor's name actor's name
or
rolename actor's name actor's name
qualify for group-dividers
rolename a actor's name rolename a actor's name
does not | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I think you are right and the no voter is wrong. If there is no group divider in credits, we should not invent one. And I do not say that because group dividers are the ugliest feature of this program, but rules say " list names exactly as they are in the credits" , and add, as you quoted, " group dividers should mirror the credits" | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | If each cast member has their own role name (even if same name) they do not get a divider. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | As everyone has said, no divider. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Thanks you everyone. I updated my contributions notes to clearly specify the group divider does not exist in the credits. I'll see what the screeners make of it in a couple of days. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | I uploaded the UK DVD version of American Hustle.
There should only be one group divider in the Cast for American Hustle and that's the one for 'Danny Rosenfeld'.
Is the contributor trying to add one for 'Tellegio's Consigliere'? That doesn't require one as it is listed twice. |

| Posted: | | | | The Dutch profile was uploaded with the "'Tellegio's Consigliere" group divider. I removed it and got a no vote by the original contributor. I sent him a PM, but he claims if the credit is identical, it can be replaced by a group divider. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | He's wrong. If each person has his/her own credit on screen, that's what they get in Profiler. Only add a divider/group role if one is present on screen. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

| Posted: | | | | And of course the contrbution got declined. Looks like my comment below was too complicated for the screeners. * Removed unneeded group divider "Tellegio's Consiglieres", there is no group divider in the credits, actors are credited separately. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

Something to remember the next time someone tries to win a forum discussion by claiming that the screeners agree with them... Other than that, I'm afraid you'll just have to try again and again (and again). You definitely are in the right here. |

| Posted: | | | | This is one of the things I find so amusing about this software. We have rules teling us what to do and we have screeners that don't care about rules, but just react based on the number of "No"-votes.
The very last contribution I made stated that it corrected IMDb carbon-copied data and replaced it with "as credited". The original contributor stated in his "No" that he prefers the IMDb data ...

Invelos have been informed of the problem and chosen what they want in their database. Just lock your local and move on. If you stop contributing these things won't bother you so much. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | I'll indeed try again. If we all stop contributing, we all have to build up all profiles from scratch. With my purchase rate I will have to start working half time | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm
