One of my favorite writers is Neil Gaiman. His novel “Stardust” has been made into a movie coming soon to a theater near you! http://www.neilgaiman.com/

I'm just working my way through his Fragile Things collection. There's one ghost story in there, only about three pages long, but it's the first one I've read in a long time that sent a chill down my spine (he flints of memory lane).

Been considering reading a couple but still have a huge pile to get through. Any recommendations on what to start with?

If you enjoyed any Terry Pratchett books, they did write one book together called "Good Omens".

Very funny, and kinda based in the real world which we live in.
Signature? We don't need no stinking... hang on, this has been done... blast [oooh now in Widescreen]
Ah... well you see.... I thought I'd say something more interesting... but cannot think of anything..... oh well

Try his new kids book, M is for Magic.  A collection of short stories, most of them are based on fairy tales and twisted.  I wouldn't have put it in the kids section myself...but it is worth the read!

You might want to check, but I recall the miniseries coming first, and other incarnations coming from that.

That's absolutely correct; I investigated after it being pointed out on this forum because I was putting through a profile update crediting him with "Original characters" thinking it was an adaptation of the book whereas, in truth, the book is an adaptation of the mini-series.

Does everyone only read new authors? I'm currently reading an author from waaaaay back. Before all of us were born.

I have had in my possession for a few years the complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I've set my sights on reading the stories straight through from the first one.

Big conclusion to draw from a very limited discussion that was about a film being released from a specific authors work.

The title is Neil Gaiman, not what authors do you read

Been there, done that......several times.
